r + 9 = 12
g + R + Y = 17
B + G - 4 = 3
Y = 9
Now, can you make up your own riddle?
Use the clues given below to solve for the unknown numbers. Then explain your thinking! How did you do it?

Well, since 9+3=12, I kept on note that R=3. Then, since I don't know what g was, I skipped to b+G-4=3. After I saw the b and g I skipped to the next. I saw y and knew that that was 9. So, next I thought back to r+9, since I saw r, and it was 3. So, I decided to do 9+3. Nine plus three was twelve. Twelve plus five is 17, so that means g is 5. So, I went to b plus g and since g is 5, and four plus three is seven I knew b just HAD to be two. So, g plus r plus y must equal g as five, r as three, and y as nine. ( R = 3, G = 5, Y = 9, and B = 2).;)

- I know that 12-9=3 so that means R+3=12, so R=3
