I thought that there would be 12 ducks and 6 cows because if the total is 48 that means that 12 x 2 =24 and 6 x 4 =24.So if you add 24 + 24 it equals 48.

I think Madison saw 6 cows and 12 ducks. Cows have 4 legs and a duck has 2 legs. 12x2=24. 6x4=24. 24+24=48. She said she saw 48 legs. That is how I got my answer.

I looked at the question and saw that if there are 48 legs 8 times 6 so either there is 6 ducks and 8 cows or there are 8 ducks and 6 cows that's the answer that I think

Hi Mrs.Harrington!Well, since 12 times 2 equals 24, then she saw 12 ducks because ducks have 2 legs and since 6 times 4 equals 24, then there where 6 cows in all.I know that because 24+24=48.;)

Hi! Madison saw 12 ducks because ducks have 2 legs and 12 x 2 = 24 and she saw 6 cows because cows have 4 legs and 6 x 4 = 24 and 24 + 24 = 48. She also could've saw 8 cows and 8 ducks because 8 x 4 = 32 and 8 x 2 = 16 and 16 + 32 = 48

There are 48 legs. Cows have 4 legs and ducks have 2 legs. 4x10=40. 2x4=8. 40+8=48. There are 10 cows and 4 ducks. I did it this way, but this is not the only combination.

You said this was not the only combination. Are there others? If so, what are they? How will you know when you have found them all?

I know that there are 48 legs.So 48 dived by eight=6.So there are eather 6 duks and 8cows or the ather way around.

I think there might be 12 ducks and 6 cows because 12×2 is 24 and 6×4 is 24
